Photos from past events

Our 2024 event: Celebrating Creativity and Living with Dementia

Our 2024 event celebrated 20 years of Trent Dementia, and took place at Thurgarton Village Hall.

Our 2023 event: Reflecting on Living with Dementia: Don’t Dismiss Us

Our 2023 event took place in September in Woodthorpe, Nottingham.

Listen to an interview on BBC Radio Nottingham about the event, produced by Maria Rubio. (C) BBC 2023

We were joined by members of our craft group, started during the pandemic as well as people from our independent peer support groups: craft, drop-in and walking groups. They demonstrated some of the regular activities we enjoy.

We also shared the results of recent research involving people affected by dementia.

Our project – Dementia Notes from Notts, involves people thinking about their experiences living with dementia in Nottingham and creating useful resources to share with others.

Our project – Dementia drop-in is a monthly city centre drop-in group where people have conversations over lunch to share experiences. It is on Third Wednesday of each month.

Our project – Dementia Health Walks: monthly relaxed strolls in Stonebridge City Farm and around the lake in Highfields Park on first and second Thursday of each month and enjoying conversations after lunch in a the cafe.

Friends for Life – an independent peer support group that we helped establish and is now run by volunteer facilitators with a broad membership.

Our 2018 event: What Matters to Me

Here are a few pictures from our first ‘What Matters to Me – Life with Dementia’ event held at Nottingham Racecourse in 2018. George Rook, one of our core advisory group who planned and led the day, is conspicuously absent because alongside leading and presenting he also found time to take all these photos.

This is a gallery of photos where the next photo will show after a few seconds, or you can use the arrows at the side of the photos to go to the next or previous one.  You can see a larger version of the photo by clicking or pressing on it.
